Will you change the character you play as in this SSB?
I probably won't change character, I'll still be Pikachu.

Wait a second.... you could post n the poll about which character you use, you know.
I might change character, in SSB I used Luigi, it's a little unbalanced and Luigi has several stuff that make him the best character thanks to the unbalance (or so I think, I can pwn you to prove it). In SSBM Luigi doesn't has that unbalanced extra power, so I'm no good with him anymore, and I picked Link since he got extra good features because he had some bad ones in SSB, he didn't jumped very far, that improved, for example. In SSBR (I'll be calling it like that) I can't know which character is best for me, I actually try to get character advantages before picking a character.

that's one way to put it .... on my behalf ... I choose character based on how I feel playing with it ... for example on SSB I use pikachu ... it has a grate grab ... but in SSBM I use Dr. Mario ... since I like the cape thing ... or Link cause the up + b move can halp you a lot on multiplayer battles ... and also because it is kinda tradition to do a sword figth with kyros ... aynway on SSBR (as Mephistopheles calls it) I'll look for either a character with an anoying funny move like Dr. Marios cape ... or a convination of moves that make me feel confortable playing with...like pikachu and link

In the first SSB I choose Link, in Melee I choose Link. In the next SSB, I won't change character and will choose Link.

You always choose Link when you can, it doesn't matter how good or bad it is.....

The good or bad depends on the person who use it. For example, look at Yakov using Bowser on MKDS, then look at me using Bowser, notice the difference.

his right about that ... but a certain person may play better with certain character ... on the other hand there are players that can adapt to almost all characters ... practice maes the diference

Isn't it practice makes the master?
LOL by the time Calumon enters the forum we'll be way offtopic.
You have something true there, even though I try to get character advantage and practice now and then, my stile is important, I can't play with Fox (I mean play good, I *can* play with Fox) because his hits are rather weak, and maybe he's too fast to control easily, I can't play with Mewtwo because he's exctremely slow, and I think his range is also quite bad... as there can be many examples, I like short distance power with a fine range (Marth has excessive range in SSBM in my opinion) and good speed, too slow or too fast just don't suit me, and too weak neither, although too strong does.

you can't refuse strength since with enough strength... it takes less hits to win .... never the less, I prefer to play around and annoy the other player ... if the player gets mad ... most of the will b e easier to win ... or joke around ... what ever the goal is ...
I like pikachu on SSB 'cause its grab has a lot of range and I can even grab smashes ... I like link on SSBM 'cause his up + b move is quite lethal if use near the edges or with some damage ... oh and don't forget the bombs, arrows and boomerang... I like Dr. Mario 'cause it is quite funny to see a running bowser turn around to miss a powerfull hit or to switch enemies around when they make the up + b movement trying to return to the platform and instead going the other way around XD.... oh and the medicine XD....
So I gues most of my characters are based on anoying moves .... XD

It is a fine trick..... I once made sort of an experiment with my brother on SSB, he is very good with pikachu, although generally I win, and if you ask him, I'm better, anyway, he's very good and we have very good duels, however, if I made annoying stuff like escaping, maybe some items, or winning several times in a row, he started to get angry and I started to enjoy it even more, at that point, he started to play very bad and I played very good. It also worked the other side, I got angry with his annoying grab and I started to lose several times in a row.
If you enjoy it you actually play a little better, and if you get frusrated you play a little worse.

actually it's not that you play better ... you just don't play worse .... but compared to the diminished ability of the other player it seems as if you were playing better....

Well, it seems we'll have to wait until we get our hands in that game and can taste some SSBR.
It's a good idea, too, to choose from the new characters, but it al depends on how you feel with any, as Gamemaniac mentioned, and how you do with it according to your experience, strategies (anoying moves, won't-let-you-grab-from-the-edge tactic, combo master, counter master, item throwers, air jumps/moves, etc..)
