I can't tell you it will be good and everybody will like it, so that's why it's a try. Since posts can't work as turns, I'll make the battle mode such as Ogre Battle, the party will assemble before beginning any quests until the end of it and battles will be automatically from beginning to end, with details about the battle. If you need further explanation about Ogre Battle's fight system, just ask, and I'll give a full explanation. As for advancement, members can make threads with quests, however, remember you can't put whatever enemy you want gives all xp and items, moderators will decide so. I hope members help in this and make good quests, good stories, or something, and not just wait for me to put something. Parties will work as Ogre Battle too, when entering a quest, a party will be decided, and when entering a party you decide which position in the battle area you will take, it is as follows, for whoever doesn't knows Ogre Battle: Enemy area Your party area D is the enemy front line and A is your party front line Frontal positions (A) cover the back positions from melee attack working as a wall for spellcasters who can't survive in the front since they have much less hp, however, A1 covers B1 and C1 not all. Melee characters attack frontally, a character in A1 can't attack the opposite side unless there's no other left, center characters (A2) can attack both sides, remember battles are automatic. 5 characters is the maximum amount of characters per party, (that includes the enemy parties) but you can't enter two quests at the same time, I'll be watching for it. If in a party, an enemy appears with the option to attack or flee, the first member of the party to post what to do will speak in name of all the party, so make an arrangement before going all suicide. Sort of a combination of different kinds of RPG's.. let's start by making a character, sort of AD&D, but maybe not as good LOL. Character creation moved here.Oh, the stuff about the profiencies.... I guess I'll add that after someone wants to enter........... besides it will be another enormous list. I'll see how to get the store working if this works, quests will reward big amounts of gold...... You start with no items. Character profiles will be kept in This thread made by me, so that each of you can't change it now and then, this will work as the base for profiles, experience and items will be managed here by moderators. Also say what you think about this and make suggestions for improvements.

I'll make my character as an explanation, hope it works.......
The "profiled character" will be kept in a new thread, there character will be displayed as they are, what they have, items, experience, etc. and will be moderator post only. I'll try to make some cool looking tables or something.
For race I'll pick Dwarf.
For class I'll pick Monk.
For proficiencies, monk only has defensive magician, so I'll pick fire resist.
I'll show you how attributes are made:
You start with this:
STR 4 modifier: +2 DEX 4 modifier: +2 VIT 4 modifier: +2 WIS 4 modifier: +2 INT 4 modifier: +2 CHA 4 modifier: +2
Since I'm dwarf, I have
STR 4 modifier: +2 DEX 4 modifier: +2 VIT 7 modifier: +3 WIS 4 modifier: +2 INT 4 modifier: +2 CHA 4 modifier: +2
Those are my base attributes, and can't be lowered from there (yes, 7 is my lowest for VIT being dwarf). Now, you get 10 points to distribute in which you like.
My distribution will be as follows:
STR 9 modifier: +4 DEX 4 modifier: +2 VIT 10 modifier: +5 WIS 6 modifier: +3 INT 4 modifier: +2 CHA 4 modifier: +2
Try to count correctly and prevent me correcting your attributes. You will get an extra attribute every 5 levels.
By the way, Link said post don't count on this section, so do double posts so it is noticeable when you make any change, modify may not be seen.

it is still somewhat confusing .... I'll try to make my character later todays since it si quite "early" rigth now ... I'm kind of tired ... but I post cause ... I wanted to add the "Katars" to the list of weapons ... I hope you know what they are ... anyway ... the Katars are a pair of weapons ... one for each hand ... both the same type ... they look kind like a globe with blades ... not freddy kruger style ... but more like Sora on .hack//sign ... or wolverine ... type and number of blades can differ between Katars and they can be elemental .... if you are ok with this addition then I hope to see them on the list next time ...
PS ... nice thing to know we can double post here ...XP

I know it's confusing... that's basically the problem here, but I just like too much this kind of RPG....... after making your character it will be much more simple (although leveling up can be somewhat problematic, you'll see). I think maybe Perseus knows something about this kind and could do it but he hasn't logged and who knows if he'll like the idea.
About your katars... I really don't want to make a weapon that is a double weapon, look, the two weapon fighting trick is that the two weapons you use have different properties, if a single weapon works as double, you wouldn't have that, besides, I think it would be a rather strong weapon...... let's make life difficult a little (that's why I'm a Monk man, no weapon).
I'll start making your character anyway.......

I'll give some more information about the battle mode: Damage will depend on your weapon, proficiencies, attributes and class, and defense will reduce the damage recieved by that amount (don't think your power and defense will multiply incredibly as you level up, this kind of character building makes so that damage does increass, but not as quick as hp). I will manage all battles. The speed is a factor you should understand before making a party. Speed will depend on your class and maybe some equipment that increases it, but that's quite it, you can't change it easily. Speed won't work as total speed of your turn, example, having 20 speed against a 10 speed enemy makes you attack 2 times every 1 of the enemy, no, here the speed decides only who attack first and who attacks last, however, there is a way to manage speed which you should know. The formation has three rows and three columns, when deciding speeds, it's not counted individually, the sum of the speeds of the characters in the same row give the speed of the row, if your row beats by 1 the enemy row, your entire row will attack first, even if you have, for example an assasin (15 speed) with a Barbarian (8 speed) (= 23 speed) against two vampires (12 speed) (=22 speed), both of you will attack first, so the formation is very important, still, even if you attack after the enemy, it's always better to have wizards behing other higher hp characters. The turn ends when all characters have moved and the next round starts automatically and again and again until one side dies completely. After making your character, you should also try this thread: Tutorial

you know I was ... thinking that maybe you could make the katars to work as single weapon instead than double ... I mean .. like you need to Katars to use one on each hand ... but you have only one you could equip it to one hand.... like if they were swords ... the thing is I like the Katars because of how they look and work not that much for their power ... so you could make them weaker if you want ....
oh and I have a question ... what exactly is a Halfing? and by "can't use heavy armor or weapons." do you mean that he can't use heavy armor nor heavy weapons .. or that he can't use neither type of weapons?

Ok, I'll add your katars.... guess I'll have to give in to make people get in, lol.
New weapon proficiency added: Katar
I never said, but i do know how katars look and all........ there are katars on Diablo 2, lol
I just realized I never posted how strong each weapon is..... that won't let you decide, so here they are:
Short sword 6, dark elemental Long sword 8, there will be many long swords with magical properties, most common weapon Bastard sword 9, -1 speed Katana 10, kind of rare weapon, very hard to find good magical katanas Scimitar 7, cold elemental Two handed sword 11, fire elemental Halberd (two handed) 10, piercing Lance (one handed) 9, can't be used in two weapon fighting Sling (long distance) 5, holy elemental Long Bow 8 (dexterity gives extra damage) Crossbow 10, piercing Quarterstaff (two handed) 8 Warhammer 8, lighting elemental Two handed warhammer 12 Club 6, earth elemental Katar 6, special for two weapon fighting, reduces penalties.
That should do.
I'll start selling stuff at my store, I'll use the forum gold so you can get some stuff before going suicide into fight, but prices will get very expensive as items improve, the quests will deal large amounts of gold.
Oh sorry about that halfing problem, I'll make it more clear, is can't wear heavy armor nor heavy weapons. Halfings are like, little people, sort of dwaarves but without muscle, so they won't be able to use metal armor not two handed weapons, but they can use normal weapons, if they couldn't they would have to be monks or wizards......... and all races can be all classes.

so a halfing can use katars?...
also how does the modifiers work? I mean what makes it diferent? for example on your character you have +5 on vitality but the race has only +3 on that and you have +3 on wisdom ...

Ye all races can use all weapons, only monk, druid and wizard class can't.....
In fact I think a Halfing combines very well with assasin, either way you can't use heavy armor, and assasin is better with short weapons than with heavy, katar is short.. since I know you'll pick that.
Modifiers, well, in a certain way I could say you don't actually need to know them, but it's good for you to undertand the representation.
The race gives me +3 points, not +3 modifier.....
Modifier means the amount they modify (believe it or not), having 10 VIT in fact is no real information about how much HP I recieve for it, the modifier tells me that I recieve 5 HP per level over the base HP per class, the same on WIS, having 6 WIS doesn't give me infrmation, the +3 modifier tells me that I recieve +3 to saving throws (and defense since I'm a Monk).
As I said, You won't gain anything by actually seeing yopur modifier, I'll make it work, but you should be aware that every 2 points give 1 modifier, as my STR is an odd number, actually you gain the same by having 8 than by having 9, but 9 is closer to 10 and 10 will increase.
