Not sure but I think I got the answer...
It was release for the Super Famicom in Japan as Final Fantasy IV(FF4)... later on was modefied and released as Final fantasy IV Easytype also in Japan. The original version was translated to Enlgish and published as Final Fantasy II in North America for the SNES ...
Further more it was retranslated and republish on other consoles later on ....

I think the question is: which is the next FF (next release doesn't necesarilly means FFXII, such as you can see FFIV was recently released for GBA) and for which console not exactly the story about FFIV. A good game by the way.

I thought the same at first ... but as I was trying to solve it... I realize it says: "was released before with which number, for which console, and in what region?"
So the question is "what was the name(number) used for the previous version of this game?"... as the number was the same for the original release ... I wanted to add also the info about the translation done for North America that did had a different name(number)....since I was not sure if he meant the North American release or the original one, even though it is the same number.
