Nintendogs Sells 250K In One Week Contributed by jmole on 02 Sep 2005 - 15:16 The numbers are in and people really do love Nintendogs. The DS-only puppy simulator sold about 250,000 copies in its first week, according to Nintendo. Tendo goes on to say that the game is both America’s hottest selling video game and the best-selling new game franchise ever to hit a portable system. (Both statements are based on Nintendo’s internal tracking of sales, the independent numbers won’t hit for a week or two.) Nearly 15 percent of all DS owners bought Nintendogs in just a week, a virtually unprecedented adoption rate for any title on an established system. And it’s also helping sell new DS hardware. Coupled with a price drop to $129.99, retailers are reporting DS sales up between one and a half and three times previous levels, and last week DS comfortably outsold our portable competitors It looks like the game is well on its way to having the same impact on the gaming market here that it did when it hit Japan. Just goes to show that gamers are hungry for games that break the mold. Let’s hope that developers and publishers are paying attention. ------------------------------------------------------------- Source

I can't believe people buy a lot of virtual dogs, there is one message for them:
Get a real dog!
I know of a friend that gets crazy by his dog and he supposedly loves his cat *cough* kyros *cough*.

The thing is Mephi that many kids, young people or even adults are unable to posses and take care of a real dog. So this realistic simulator will give them the opportunity to have a pet without having to worry to much to feed them or cleaning their wastes and what's best it cost less than a real dog. Other people just can't stand to have a dog with freewill *cough* Kyros *cough* and Nintendogs gives them a dog with limited freewill. Also let me tell you... I have a dog already but I wanted a Husky. The Husky need too many space that I can't have one. But If I can buy Nintendogs they I could finally have a Husky since the DS uses much less space than even my real dog. If I were to get enough money I think Nintendogs would be the first game for my DS (I have to buy the DS first ).

Very similar problem to me, but I will always prefer an RPG to a pet simulator.

Hmm, how are you supposed to make that?

It's quite simple.... Recipe: Minimum Materials: Procedure: - first you get the dog transform into data (hard part)
- then you program an RPG (Most FF style would work) and change the main character for the Data Dog.
- Change the stat system into (jump[agility], bite[Strength], run[Speed] and so on.
- Make the player "play" the game (Another hard part).
- Enjoy the suffering.
- Done
any questions ... please keep them to your self.
