Jul 06, 2005 Nintendo DS proves to be essential mountaineering gear.Climbing gloves? Check. Oxygen tank? Check. Nintendo DS? Check. Neal Mueller and Chris Grubb set out on a mission to summit Mount Everest in March, and stowed beside their rugged mountaineering gear were 12 Nintendo DS systems. These Nintendo DS systems accompanied Neal and Chris throughout their two-and-a-half month trip, providing hours of fun during the down times at base camp. Neal reached the peak of Mount Everest on June 2, 2005, but unfortunately technical difficulties and worsening weather conditions kept Chris from joining him at the top. Chris and Neal are no strangers to grueling ascents, and they are already planning a new expedition to the summit of Mount Rainier in Washington state. Source and full article

Well, as much as I think that they are absolutely crazy (which, by the way, is a lot), climbing the Everest has a thing in which, if you try to climb 12 hours a day, you will return in a bag, that means dead, rest is needed, and you can only climb when the weather lets you, so it could help kill time.

I didn't said that it said that, I was making my point that they had time enough to play DS. I meant that they didn't, that's why they got the time.
