Mephistopheles' main story - part 1 As in all quests, first choose position You are mercenaries hired by the mayor of Tukuar to protect the city and help with troubles, you are at the barracks right now. You have been recently informed about a series of kills in town over the past few nights, it is your job to find out what happens and deal accordingly. Reward = 2000 Gold. Who will answer the call?

ok ... I'm in .... put either on A1, A3 or B2 .. what ever you think its more effective ...
that is if we are on the same party as I suppose ... if not ... if I'm alone then put me on A2 ....

You're not alone, we're supposed to be in the same party...... if we were enemies it wouldn't make any sense as for story........
OK, I'll put you in A1 then, in B2 I would cover you from all melee hits, not very good investment to my HP...... Being in the same row means our speeds add up to attack first
Ok, party assembled.
You need to gather information about the killings before night, or another innocent person will die, you have only 6 hours until nightfall to gather information.
You can go to the bar for local rumors. This could take 2 to 4 hours
You can ask idle people around for witnesses or something. This will take 3 hours
You can check the police reports. This will take 1 hour.
You can wait until nightfall and try to pursuit the killer to its hideout. Until nightfall.
Note: Time will be "in-game" actions deicde time, so don't worry about replying fast or something silly.
You can choose 1, or a sum that works in the time you have, if you go over 6 hours you may have to wait until the next day.

I say we might ask around people and check police reports, then wait until nightfall. I don't trust drunk guys at some tavern...... since this is still the story part, you have to participate, the guy making the story (me) shouldn't make the decisions, that's like cheating.
Don't worry, fighting will come soon enough.

You go to the police department to check on reports about the kills, you take a whole hour analyzing for posibilities, after a lot of time wasted, the victims are unrelated, it's not a kidnapper since it doesn't asks for money, there is nothing to gain politically by killing those people, the police was a dead end.
You aks around people ramdomly and you hear the most unusual tales a human can imagine......
Some people say it's a killer around town killing for fun and go running into their houses locking everything up.
Some people say it's some sort of monster dwelling in the nights... but nobody has seen it and told the story.
You meet a strange guy that has been standing still in the street all day, he introduces to you very properly, it seems rather suspicious, he has been looking at you all day.
Man: "My name is Hans, nice to meet you two, you seem like fine mercearies, I have a shop of rare goods, might you be interested?"
You realize he justs wants you to buy from him, a fine offer, but you have lost too much time and it's almost nightfall.
Mephistopheles: "In another ocassion maybe, we're quite busy right now"
Hans: "Is it the night killer? I heard the mayor would put someone to investigate, I've been investigating myself, and apparently the killer or whatever it is, is very filthy or someting, a trail of blood was seen once or twice, filled with hair....... looks like the trail of blood always leads out of town, but people are more scared from wild animals out there, so not even the guards go outside of town to check"
gamemaniac: "thanks for the news, we need to go to make watch"
Hans: "We will see again, keep in touch"
You wait for nightfall and hear some strange noises in an alley, when you get there you see the trail of blood, you follow the trail of blood, it leads out of town, into a cave, the cave is too dark, you should come tomorrow when there is light.....
Early the next day, you go into the cave.
You are in the cave, it is not too deep, you see several skulls and bones, seems the "Creature" is actually eating the people, motives thrown out of the road........
Inside the cave there is a large wild bear sleeping, there is blood in his mouth and claws, so he's the killer.
What will you do now? obvious course of action is attack or maybe try to capture it, unless you're scared and want to run.

So Kalah, now that we have taken care of your little toys; how about if you stop being such a crybaby about your friend and start beheaving like a man. Besides your friend caused a lot of pain and death to people so now that hes death, you could make him undead and live peacefully or you could come with us and be responsable of the crimes. After all it was your friend. What do you think Mephistopheles? Should we let him free or captive?
